The flow of brushwork, the texture of the paint, its layers and colors, the mixing and making of hues and tones- have the heft of passion for me.
I feel color is my natural language, it is where I can express my self best, while sketching what I see is how I stay in touch with the world; nature and the beauty of places taken for granted.
Painting leads me each time to a new exploration of being in the moment, it gives me the courage to stretch out and dare, not knowing what's next.
I seem to paint mostly landscapes and cityscapes, whether done in a traditional style, or more loosely when the landscapes become abstract inner spaces.
Some of the paintings are done in Plein-Air, on location, but most of them are done in the studio, using sketches as a reference.
